MG Siegler, the Apple fanboy that everybod loves to hate, finally gave a good review to a Google product. That is not what this post is about. It not even about Android fanboys hating on Siegler for being a self professed zealot of the Apple Coven. Its not about the fact that neither company cares bout anything but their bottom line. It is simply me declaring my non allegiance to either company and my justification thereof.

I have never purchased an Apple product for myself, not because they are bad products(most of the time, they are the best), but because they are very expensive products. Living with roommates that struggle with money but always find a way to get the latest Apple products(when they whine about how unfair the world is, I feign sympathy) has made me realize that owning an Apple product is just as much about the the status as it is about the quality of the tech. My financial status is secure, but it is not “$600+ on a phone secure”. I would never do that to myself, I would rather have my Android products, Nexus S and Kindle Fire, both running Jelly Bean and be able to live comfortably. Until I get a job that provides A LOT of disposable income or Apple makes an iProduct that can feed and shelter me, I will be satisfied with cheap and hackable Android products.

An iPad Lover’s Take On The Nexus 7

Everyone else, brace yourselves. You may want small children to leave the room. I’m about to do something I don’t do often — something I always said I’d do if the product deserved it. Something some people seem to think I’m incapable of: praise a Google product — an Android-based Google product, no less.
